Simon was born in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath in the Republic of Ireland. Just after he learnt how to walk he moved with his mum, Trisha, to the UK in her quest for work. After moving around for a few years they settled in New Malden, Surrey.
From an early age Simon was a keen footballer, but it wasn’t till he was 10 years old that he put his full faith and support behind Tottenham Hotspur, to keep his stepdad, Dave, a happy man. A decision that is finally starting to get interesting.
Simon enjoyed a very normal, state school education in Surrey, finishing full-time education in 2003, and choosing to brave the world of work rather than the university route. He enjoyed 6 months working as an estate agent in Surbiton, Surrey, earning top marks in all qualifications put in his path.
In 2004 Simon decided to visit his roots, and joined his hometown football team for a season in the U21 All Ireland Eircom League, just missing out on a Cup Final place after losing to the famous St Patricks Athletic FC.
As well as an amazing season in Ireland, 2004 proved to be the year that Simon worked out his place in business. His school pal, David Erasmus, began his first business Broadplace Advertising. The company was running with a couple of staff, but together, and within 2 1/2 years, Simon and David created a company managing £5million of advertising revenue per year, and employing 20 staff locally and abroad.
Simon came into Broadplace with basic Sales Negotiator training, but left the business in 2007, teaching his own tried and tested steps and methods that can easily transpose to any telesales strategy.
Before Broadplace was sold, Simon decided he would take his biggest step yet and setup his first business. With no background in business studies it was a steep learning curve, but one he will never regret. TRON Media began from Dressing Room No7 of the local theatre, offering PPC management, but more recently work on SEO, Social Media and Mobile Web. TRON Media are currently managing over £5million of advertising revenue per year, and employ 12 staff locally and abroad.
In February of 2010 Simon got married to childhood sweetheart Sarah, in St Pauls Onlslow Square, South Kensington, London with their Wedding Reception on the HMS President. He likes to call themselves childhood sweethearts, as he has known Sarah since he was 13, and has fancied her ever since, but it wasn’t till July 2009 that they decided to date and get engaged in August.
Since February, Simon, having finally joined the property ladder, now lives in Brighton, on the UK’s South coast and feels privileged to be part of the community at St Peters church in the heart of the city. He is involved with Men’s Groups, 18-30′s groups and runs an Alpha group with his wife once a year.
In late 2010, Simon ran his first sales training day, helping every member of a young company called Mosho realise their own passion and ability to sell a very interesting product. Using skills he has mastered, Simon was able to leave the course with every staff member able to hold a strong case against even the coldest objections.
In 2011, Simon is looking to double the advertising revenue TRON Media manage, and provide support and guidance to businesses that need more sales through face to face or telephone.
